Yet More Books
Undecorate: the No-Rules Approach to Interior Design, by Christiane Lemieux, is one of the interior design books I am most looking forward to reading. Feng Shui: A Practical Guide for Architects and Designers, by Vincent Smith and Barbara Lyons Stewart, looks like it has good potential. How Architecture Works: A Humanist's Toolkit, by Witold Rybczynski, is not about how to properly build arches, but rather about how architecture can be designed well and what that means. Golden Ratio Books
The Return of Sacred Architecture, by Herbert Bangs, seems like it will either be really helpful or really creepy. Alternately, it could be both (or neither). The Glorious Golden Ratio, by Alfred S. Posamentier and Ingmar Lehmann, has a whole chapter on the golden ratio in plants. Symmetry: A Journey into the Patterns of Nature, by Marcus du Sautoy, seems like it should help me answer part of my thesis. Why Beauty is Truth, by Ian Stewart, is a book that I started to read last year but had to stop after realizing that it wasn't going to help me write about late 1940's women's body figures. I look forward to reading it again. The (Fabulous) Fibonacci Numbers, by Alfred S. Posamentier and Ingmar Lehmann, has a chapter on Fibonacci numbers in architecture. Mathematics in Nature, by John A. Adam, seems right up my project's alley. Design in Nature, by Adrian Bejan and J. Peder Zane, seems to talk mainly about branching, but might have something useful for my project. TED Talks
Architecture by the People for the People is a really well done TED Talk about making architecture avaliable to everyone. It's not really related to my project, but... Creative Houses from Reclaimed Stuff is another engaging TED Talk that starts off with some examples of houses Dan Phillips has made, and then dives in to why we have so much waste in homebuilding, and how we can change that, or at least use it to build creative houses from reclaimed stuff. In 2003 BBC produced a show called Design Rules. Its six episodes (space, color, lighting, pattern and texture, interior planning, and personality) walk you through interior design basics while the host, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, provides advice for improving your space.

And More Books
The Golden Ratio: The Story of ϕ, the World's Most Astonishing Number, by Mario Livio is an in depth history of ϕ in the world's art and minds. Design Books
Logic and Design, by Krome Barratt, is a somewhat outdated book that seems to have some very applicable chapters (like the one on ratios in design), and some less applicable chapters, but this might be one of the books with more potential. Cathrine McDermott's Book of 20th Century Design is based off of the Design Museum, and does have a chapter on interior design, as well as one on architecure. Botany Books
The Botany Coloring Book, by Paul Young, is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It's a botany coloring book with explinations of what you're coloring on each page. Barron's Essentail Atlas of Botany seems to be along the lines of a botany study guide/cheat sheet. Botany Illistrated, by Janice Glimm-Lacy and Peter B. Kaufman, is similar to the Botany Coloring Book, but with more detaild drawings that probably aren't meant to be colored in. Interior Design Books
